Stephen spent 20+ years as a controls engineer and project lead at companies like ATS Automation and Ramp Inc., leading projects up to $10M in automotive, oil and gas, and life sciences. He got to travel all over the world delivering world-class automation solutions to Fortune 100 companies.

But he kept noticing that being the most technical person in the room didn't actually get you ahead. He got curious about what did move the needle, and realized sales and running a business are way more complex than technical people give them credit for.

That's what pushed him to leave engineering and spend the next few years doing business software development and process consulting for dozens of companies. He got to see inside good sales organizations and learn what it takes to grow and run a business – not just deliver projects.

He started EmberOps to bring that back to the automation world. Stephen works with systems integrators and controls houses to build sales processes that actually work – handling complex quoting, managing long sales cycles, and creating systems to stay on top of it all. The goal: help technical people sell what they're worth and build actual businesses, not just own jobs.
